Andreas Merkl

 

Andreas Merkl is a Senior Fellow and co-founder of CCIF. As CCIF’s former Managing Director, he helped to lead CCIF from its establishment in 2001 through 2007. Mr. Merkl has over 16 years experience in management consulting and finance. Mr. Merkl is also a Principal with California Environmental Associates, a for-profit consultancy in San Francisco, and Chairman of the Sea Change Investment Fund, a venture capital fund dedicated to investments in the sustainable seafood sector.

 

Prior to founding CCIF, Mr. Merkl spent nine years as a management consultant—first with McKinsey and Company, where he co-founded the firm’s environmental consulting practice, and later with CH2M HILL as Vice President of the Firm’s management consulting group.

 

Mr. Merkl holds a Masters in Business Administration from Harvard University (with honors), a Masters of Regional Planning from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz
