Jennifer Kao

Jennifer Kao is based in San Francisco and has supported CCIF projects for a number of years. Focusing on conservation finance, she has helped such clients as WWF and TNC develop long-term financial and operational plans for the management of protected areas in Indonesia and the Philippines. The opportunity to observe first-hand the challenges of environmental conservation in developing countries and to assist NGOs in fundraising from multi-lateral/corporate institutions is what drew Jennifer to CCIF. In addition, Jennifer is an Associate with California Environmental Associates and the Sea Change Investment Fund.

Previously, Jennifer worked at JPMorgan, specifically in natural resources investment banking. She focused on the chemical and oil and gas industries, helping clients complete corporate mergers and acquisitions and public debt/equity issuances. Jennifer also volunteered as a project coordinator with I Love A Clean San Diego, a nonprofit organization focused on coastal conservation and local watershed issues.

In her free time, Jennifer loves to travel internationally, collecting customs stamps in her well-worn passport. Locally, she loves exploring the Bay Area on her bike. Jennifer has a bachelor’s degree in Political Economy and a minor in Business Administration from UC Berkeley.
