Hirason Horuodono, a commercial diver with an educational background in marine science and an expert in coral reef monitoring, has extensive experience conducting field assessments, data analyses, and community stakeholder consultations. He assists our partners in the Spermonde Archipelago in Sulawesi and Karimunjawa National Park in Java in preparing business plans for sustainable financing of conservation strategies and conducts fieldwork on the feasibility of conservation concessions. He also conducts training for aquarium fishermen to become certified and facilitates other groups in the ornamental fish industry to transform their practices to become more sustainable.

Mr. Horuodono started his career as a freelance diver and has worked for various science projects with government institutions such as LIPI (Indonesian Science Institution) and non-government conservation groups like the World Wildlife Fund for Nature. In 2000, he received his dive master certificate from POSSI (Indonesian Subaquatic Sport Association).

Mr. Horuodono holds a B.S. in Marine Science from Hassanuddin University, Makassar, Indonesia and is a certified POSSI Dive Master.
